Claude Vallin has always been drawing and learned etching on his own in 2002. Since then, he has explored the different complex and varied techniques and printed his works on the presses he built himself.
His work in engraving is inspired by his favorite themes, landscapes, morning mists, sea views, and nature in general. Engraving on copper plates, etching and aquatint are fascinating means of expression. The enhancement of light, the contrasts, the finesse of the lines, the gradients find another strength thanks to all these techniques.
Since the summer of 2020, he has shared a permanent exhibition with his wife Val Holmes, artist, in their gallery located at 29, rue du Marché in La Flotte on the Ile de Ré.
